Weights and Measures Act 1985 - Scale of Testing Fees
Cumbria Trading Standards carry out various testing and verification services. These fees are effective from 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2023 and are reviewed annually, some of which are subject to VAT which will be charged at the current rate.
Cumbria Trading Standards Verification, Test and Report service charges:
Calibration Certificates required for weighing or measuring equipment which are tested on inspection will be charged at £71 per hour commensurate with the actual work carried out in issuing the certificate.
Test and Report of equipment will be charged at the rate of £71 per officer hour.
Calibration of Weighing Instruments will be charged at the rate of £71 per officer hour.
- These fees assume that the owner or his agent provides the testing equipment for example - Weighbridge Test Unit (WBTU).
Where we provide equipment and it has to be specially hired then the full costs will be charged.
Calibration of Liquid Fuel and Lubricant Measuring Equipment will be charged at the rate of £71 per officer hour.
