Here at Inglewood, we can offer a comfortable and safe environment in our purpose built home. Inglewood provides 24 hour residential care for the elderly frail. The home is staffed by experienced and qualified people who understand the complex care needs of residents living with dementia. We have a selection of rooms that provide en-suite facilities. We also have numerous lounges and quiet spaces for residents and families to enjoy throughout the home, along with gardens and a memory room. We have our own hairdressing salon and enjoy the services of a hairdresser every week.

Our ethos at Inglewood is to "live life to the full" and we are aware of the many benefits to activities both physically and emotionally. Some of the activities that we make available to our residents include:

  • indoor bowling every Wednesday at 10am at Wigton Bowling Club
  • "Down Memory Lane" weekly stimulation memory recall with Shirley Rodney
  • in-house activity sessions, with an objective to promote health and wellbeing
  • dominos, card games and craft sessions
  • hairdresser visits weekly
  • weekly visits every Monday from our Pets as Therapy Greyhound "Jack"
  • coffee mornings on the first Wednesday of every month
  • armchair exercises with Kiddley Divey monthly
  • regular entertainers and music (for example - vocalists, harpist)
  • visits to local garden centre
  • dining out at local restaurants and pubs
  • pop up shoe and clothes sales
  • monthly church visits for light lunches and service at Lowmoor Church
  • for our animal lovers visits from animals throughout the year, for example - donkeys and alpaca's.

"My mum has been at Inglewood for three years now and I have nothing but praise for the care she has received there. She and her room are kept clean and well cared for. The food is nourishing, well balanced and appetising, thanks to the excellent catering staff.

The team at Inglewood is well led by example from the management and senior staff. The care staff work hard and always go the extra mile to ensure Mum is happy and comfortable. There is a generally welcoming and pleasant atmosphere and unlike many care homes, Inglewood smells fragrant! This is due to the diligent cleaning staff and also the care workers on the individual units.

Having worked in nursing homes and hospitals myself it is quite evident that Inglewood stands out as a centre of excellence as a care home and training centre. Their recent assessment award as 'outstanding' is well deserved and I have no reservations in recommending this well run establishment."

"Dad was sad to leave our family home but has adapted to life in Inglewood and now would not want to be anywhere else. He is so appreciative of all that you do for him, as are we."

Reviews for Care Homes, Residential Homes and Nursing Homes

Our cooks have many years of experience catering for the elderly and service users with dementia. They strive to make sure that each service user has a say in what appears on the menu and that our food is cooked in a traditional homely manner. Our cooks have qualifications in nutrition, so catering for specialist diets is no problem. They also love baking, so there are cakes available daily for those service users who fancy a treat. We also arrange takeaway nights for our residents where we order in food like fish and chips, Chinese, Indian or Pizza. We let families know so that they can join us for the takeaway.
