In Stained and Fused Glass, learn all the skills you need to make a stunning stained glass window and make beautiful objects out of kiln formed glass including decorations and 3D objects.
What will the course cover and how will it be taught?
Students will be taught how to cut glass safely, lead their pieces into a panel and solder the joints. They will make a practice panel before embarking on a project of their own choice and will be given advice on how to design a stained glass panel. Students can learn how to assemble glass using copper foil and how to paint and stain glass, using silver stain and enamels. Students may also learn the art of kiln formed fused glass and have access to a specialist glass kiln to fire their pieces. They will be offered advice about how to make the best use of colour and how glass changes under heat.
