Oliver
Lionel Bart's Oliver is one of the Greatest Musicals of all time.
Based on Charles Dicken's Oliver Twist it tells of an orphan who spent his first 9 years in an
orphanage. He was sold to an undertaker from whom he escaped and made his way to London
where he met up with other street urchins headed by Dodger. Dodger invited him to join them
where they lived and worked as pickpockets for their elderly mentor, Fagin. Lots of good and bad
adventures ensued but all ended happily for Oliver.
Full of characters from Victorian England and unforgettable tunes this version by Ulverston
