  • Harry Potter Book NIght Family Quiz
    Come and celebrate Harry Potter Book Night at Barrow Library with our inaugural family quiz! Potter fans young and old are invited to come together and celebrate with fun activities, photo opportunities, fancy dress and of course our fantastic quiz. This year's theme is the Goblet of Fire so get ready champions, eternal glory awaits! Older children are welcome but must be accompanied by their family team, recommended for witches and wizards age 9 and ¾ and above. Adult teams without children are also welcome.     Join us for our FREE monthly Family History group session. It's a great opportunity to get tips on using Find My Past and Ancestry and to share information and ideas with others. No need to book, just drop-in on the second Monday of the month, 10am - 12noon.

We can help with applications for: Carers Allowance, attendance allowance, personal independence payment, council tax discounts, access to grants and other funding.   • Affinity Credit Union At Keswick Library
    Keswick's Affinity Credit Union will be hosting drop-in information and advice sessions at Keswick Library on the second Wednesday of every month between 9.30 and 11am. The service will launch on Wednesday September 11th between 9.30 am and 11 am. Please drop in to any session to find out how you can get help with practical money saving techniques such as choosing an energy supplier, living healthily on less, budgeting, saving, along with little tips for making your money go further. There's no need to make an appointment just pop in and have a chat.

  • Kaleidoscope - A New Exhibition from Green Door
    Kaleidoscope - a new exhibition from Green Door artists celebrating their diversity and originality in the prestigious and attractive Upfront gallery. The title Kaleidoscope offers artists the freedom to approach their subjects using a wide variety of media and styles. It is intended as an invitation to find inspiration by exploring new ways of thinking. Cumbria Ceramics will share the same exhibition time, and will bring an extra three dimensional element to the UpFront experience. The spacious gallery offers an opportunity to display larger pieces and more significant work in this well-lit and sympathetic space, always sensitively presented and curated by the owner, John Parkinson.   • Walking for Health
    Walking is a great way to get fit, explore what's on your doorstep and make new friends. Join us for a short relaxed stroll around Vulcan Park, Workington. We'll meet at 11am in the foyer of Workington Library every Tuesday. The walk will be at a relaxed pace and take between 20 - 30 minutes. The route is flat, with places to sit and rest if required, so the walk is suitable for all ages and abilities.     Carlisle and Eden Mind will be holding a series of drop in sessions in Carlisle library on the first Tuesday of each month where staff and volunteers will be available to provide advice on services provided by Mind as well as signposting people to other services as appropriate. The drop in sessions will run from February to May and will be held 11.30am to 1.00pm.
