  • Falcons and Fairy Kings: A Walk Through Glanoventa
    Join children's author Alex Mullarky and creative freelancer Jessica Meagher for a family-friendly and falcon-filled adventure at and around Glanoventa Roman Bath House, in Ravenglass! Witness a miraculous bird of prey display by the Cumberland Bird of Prey Centre. Enter the court of King Eveling, the king of the fairies rumoured to inhabit the ruins, in a live storytelling session. This event is run in conjunction with The World Beneath the Fells exhibition at Florence Arts Centre, Egremont (29 July - 4 Sept), and is part of the Hadrian's Wall 1900 Festival celebrating the area's Roman history! Aimed at children aged 8-12 and their families - but all are welcome! Tickets are £5 per person and FREE for under 5s. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

  • Open-Air Midsummer Night's Dream
    Wayfarers Theatre presents Midsummer Night's Dream, a lively and colourful OPEN-AIR adaptation of Shakespeare's much-loved tale of mischief, magic, and mishap. This approachable and inspiring family-friendly outdoor theatre adventure has been produced using sustainable theatre practices and guarantees an experience like no other. BRING A PICNIC to nibble on, sit back and enjoy live music and colourful costumes, a wonderful troupe of local performers and with any luck, some sunshine! The gate opens 45 minutes before the start time. Run time two hours+ including a 30 minute interval. Seating is NOT provided, blankets and camping chairs are encouraged, whatever you need to be comfortable! Regretfully, due to the nature of the venue, there is no disabled access.

    Come and sing with a lovely bunch of others. Learn all the songs there and then. No music reading. No experience needed. Bring your love of singing and just drop in.
