  • Handmade Christmas Fused Glass Decorations
    Handmade Christmas Fused Glass decorations | Sat 29 Oct | 11.15am-5pm | £65 (includes tea and coffee) | 16+yrs | Tutor Sarah Walkley | Studio 2 Make your own unique Christmas decorations from colourful fused glass with specialist glass artist Sarah Walkley. What will the workshop cover and how will it be taught? Learn how to cut glass into shapes and assemble the pieces to make attractive and professional-looking Christmas decorations. You will learn how to add sparkle, pattern and bling to make your decorations festive and individual. Students will be shown how to handle and cut glass safely. Demonstrations will be given to the whole group and individual tuition and support will be provided as needed. The students will be offered guidance and support to achieve success in completing their projects. Students can bring their own designs or use the ones provided. Finished pieces will be taken away to be fired and then available to collect from Brewery Arts at a later date.

  • Nick Sharratt's Halloween Drawalong
    Starts 2pm | Tickets £9 | Theatre Join much-loved children's author and illustrator Nick Sharratt for a special Halloween-themed drawalong. He'll be sketching gently spooky characters from a selection of his fun-filled picture books, including the hugely popular You Choose, Shark in the Park and Pants series. And you can draw along with him! Nick has illustrated over 300 books and has worked with top authors including Julia Donaldson, Michael Rosen and Kes Gray. He's also the illustrator of Dame Jacqueline Wilson's phenomenally successful children's novels. Nick's been awarded a gold Blue Peter badge too! This event is ideal for Nick's younger fans. Bring pencils, paper and something to lean on.

Learn how to write and record your own songs, produce and make beats, using digital software in a creative space. We'll play around with effects like reverb, beat making and building our own synth sounds, to make a track as our own music group. Learn how to write and produce with your voices, and instruments in an open safe space, sharing ideas and expressing yourself through music making. We'll be writing, improvising and producing using Ableton and GarageBand.

Enjoy the beautiful woodland environment while you learn through a mix of theory, demonstrations and assignments that will help you to master the controls of your camera. By the end of the course, you will have received and practised the basics of digital photography. You will learn the controls of your camera, the basics of metering and exposure control together with techniques to aid composition. You will also have an enhanced idea about what to look for and how to turn what you see into meaningful photographs. Suitable for beginner and early intermediate photographers. You will need a digital camera, its instruction manual, a memory card, clothes suitable for outside and some means of making notes.
