  • Everything Went Fine
Cinema | (15) | 113 minutes | 28th July 20:15 A daughter is forced to reconcile her past with her father when he contacts her with a devastating final wish, in Francois Ozon's powerful family drama. Andre (Andre Dussollier) has never been the easiest of fathers. But when he suffers a debilitating stroke and calls on his daughter Emmanule (Sophie Marceau) to help him die with some dignity, she finds herself faced with a painful decision. When her husband asks why Andre would ask this of his daughter, her response is clear: That's why, because I'm his daughter. An adaptation of Emmanule Bernheim's memoir, Everything Went Fine is both a detailed portrait of family relationships and a frank account of the process involved in assisted dying.

Tessa is a young, brilliant barrister. She has worked her way up from working class origins to be at the top of her game; defending; cross examining and winning. An unexpected event forces her to confront the lines where the patriarchal power of the law, burden of proof and morals diverge. Prima Facie takes us to the heart of where emotion and experience collide with the rules of the game. Justin Martin directs this solo tour de force, captured live from the intimate Harold Pinter Theatre in London's West End. A production from Empire Street Productions.
