  • Introduction to Urban sketching
    Suitable for beginners and those looking to gain more confidence sketching in urban areas. In the morning we will be using the environment of the Quaker meeting house to make a series of simple sketchbook drawings, looking at seeing and observing simple techniques to deal with complex scenes, finding a way with perspective, composition and page layout. In the afternoon we'll be bringing our sketches to life with watercolour, considering how to mix and apply colour. Come prepared to work outside!

    Over four morning sessions Sue will teach you the basics of weaving on a card loom. You will use a photograph or picture of a landscape as a starting point and learn how to make a design plan from this and then how to create a stunning piece of textile art using yarns, texture, colour and different weaves. You will learn how to finish off the work so it can be hung on a wall. after the course you will be equipped with the skills to continue this process at home.
