Whether you’ve not picked up a pencil or paintbrush since school, or are a regular sketcher and maker, everyone is welcome as you'll be guided by an expert artist tutor. This is about having fun, being creative and sociable - bring a group of friends or just yourself, everyone is welcome! What do I need to bring?     Life Drawing Evenings | Wed 14 Sep | Wed 26 Oct | 7.30-9.30pm | £13 (per session) | 16+ yrs | Supervised by Catherine MacDiarmid | Studio 3 An opportunity for people with some experience to develop drawing and/or painting direct from a life model. Explore and develop your techniques as well as new approaches to life drawing on an individual basis and within the disciplined tradition of a life room. Please note that this is an untutored session but will be supervised by artist Catherine MacDiarmid. Places are limited and must be booked in advance. What do I need to bring with me? Please bring your own materials, drawing boards and easels will be provided.

    14 Sept | 7.45pm 15 Sept | 4.45pm (15) | 78 minutes 'Queen of Glory' is the story of Sarah Obeng, the brilliant child of Ghanaian immigrants, who is quitting her Ivy League PhD program to follow her married lover to Ohio. When her mother dies suddenly, she bequeaths her daughter a Christian bookstore in the Pelham Parkway section of the Bronx where Sarah was raised. A follow-up on the classic immigrant's tale, Queen of Glory provokes laughter and empathy, as its heroine is reborn through her inheritance.

Through a series of explorations, you will create images using a range of drawing media in direct response to your observations in and around the beautiful Footprint and National Trust St Catherine's estate in Windermere. Gather your images and develop them further into your personal art book of discoveries. You will be encouraged to make marks and create textures using drawing materials, and collage, in series of exploratory exercises. In week two the session focuses on creating art booklets, led by artist Elizabeth Shorrock. You will look at ways in which to record and arrange your artwork using a range of paper booklet formats.
