Lapstone House is situated in millom a small coastal town on the north shore of the estuary of the river Duddon, Just outside the Lake District national park. Local amenities include GP practice, two dentist, optician post office, supermarket and unique personalised shops.
Lapstone provides a cosy warm environment making you feel right at home, we are a small home 23 bedrooms in total, and split over two floors on both floors we have a lounge and dining area.
We accommodate people with physical frailty and people living with dementia. The environment we create at Lapstone is to encourage our residents to stay active in body and mind which supports the person's independence and dignity at all times. We deliver the highest quality of care to our residents.
Activities are solely based around our resident's choice this is regularly reviewed within the residents meetings. Snap shot off the meaningful activities we promote:
- Stepping stones nursery visits every 2nd Wednesday different themes each visit
- Knit and Natter at the local library every Monday and Thursday
- Active minds at the local library once a month
- 2nd Wednesday in the month our residents participate in a coffee morning held in the local hospital which involves interactive information on diabetes prevention, health needs and indoor activity which increases core strengths
- Church visits
- Regular outside entertainers which includes music, pantomimes, reminiscing
- Kiddley Divey armchair activities
- In-house activities include stimulating the brain: dominoes, crosswords, jigsaw quizzes
- Hairdressing and pamper sessions every week
- Gardening taking care of our raised beds and vegetable patch.
We are one amazing family here at Lapstone providing care with dignity and compassion. We are devoted in promoting a culture of love, kindness and care with the highest of quality that is person centred.

Our food is all homemade and prepared to the highest quality menus are designed around our resident's choices and reviewed regularly. Our cooks work hard in supporting our residents with a well-balanced nutritious meals and where special diets are needed.
