Early Career Framework for Teachers

Starting in September 2021, the statutory induction of new teachers changed significantly with the introduction of the Early Career Framework (ECF). New teachers are now typically referred to as Early Career Teacher (ECTs).

Subject to parliamentary procedure, all ECTs in England undergoing statutory induction will be entitled to two years of professional development and support based on the ECF.

The One Cumbria Teaching School Hub will be delivering the Teach First Full Induction Programme to schools across the county. This means that the role of Teaching School Alliances, in acting as appropriate bodies for NQT induction, has now ended. Similarly, the Local Authority no longer acts as an appropriate body.
